Member Agreement 1 EV Electric Rate

Member Agreement 1 EV Electric Rate
Member Agreement 1 EV Electric Rate

By signing this agreement, the Member elects to take advantage of Corn Belt Energy’s Rate 1-EV. This rate is offered as an option for all qualifying CBEC electric members.

Rate 1-EV allows a member to charge their Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) at a discounted electric rate. The rate applies to BEV and PHEV as well as all household kilowatt-hours utilized. Rate 1-EV does not prevent the member from charging their electric vehicle or utilizing electricity within the home. The rate is designed to encourage members to shift their usage and take advantage of a lower kilowatt-hour charge during off-peak times. The Rate 1-EV policy defines the details of the rate and supersedes any discrepancies found within this document.

*To maximize member and CBEC savings, it is advised to observe a 15-minute buffer before and after the on-peak window to prevent on-peak kilowatt-hour charges.

Note: The 1-EV rate will start on the 1st of the month following the completion of this agreement.

Additional Information:

CBEC encourages members to participate on Rate 1-EV for 12 consecutive billing cycles (or when the pilot period ends), but a member may elect to change to another applicable rate if necessary for future energy use. A rate change cannot occur after an electric bill has been produced for a previous month’s usage. If a member elects to discontinue service on this rate, the member will not be permitted to return to Rate 1-EV for a period of one year.

Should the electric metering fail, causing the on-peak/off-peak energy consumption to be incorrectly recorded, or not at all, the member will be billed on their previous electric rate, until such time the metering device is corrected.

The Member acknowledges that CBEC is not responsible for the performance or charging/mechanical costs of the member’s BEV or PHEV. By signing this agreement, the member agrees to all terms and conditions contained in this document.
